Strategy for the development of agriculture and rural areas of the Municipality of Foča 2023-2027.

This Strategy for the development of agriculture and rural areas of the Municipality of Foča for the planned period from the year 2023 until the year 2027 establishes the following vision: “Municipality of Foča shall be regional, economic and educational center, where the future of its citizen is insured, a place for a pleasant and healthy life and the development of entrepreneurship, with high degree of utilization and protection of natural and cultural resources, as a guarantee for long-term development and progress”.
This text identifies the following Strategic objectives: Strategic objective 1. To improve the competitiveness of agricultural production within selected value chains; Strategic objective 2: To improve the quality of life in rural areas; Strategic objective 3: To develop supplementary activities in rural areas. In addition to the strategic objectives described above, this text takes into account the so-called cross-cutting objectives relevant to each measure and they must be taken into account when developing a model for the implementation of related activity. These cross goals are related to: gender equality, that is, improving the position of women in the countryside; fight against poverty, then issues of demographic revitalization of rural areas and support for young people, and issues related to environmental protection and mitigating the consequences of climate change.
Priorities represent key fields and directions of action for the realization of the vision and strategic goals and as such have the greatest impact on development, i.e. the realization of strategic indicators. Defined priorities are grouped under relevant strategic objectives. Priority 1.1. Increasing productivity and improving product quality agricultural production-Measure 1.1.1. Investments in the improvement of agricultural production, Measure 1.1.2. Improving the quality of agricultural production, Measure 1.1.3. Improving access to knowledge and innovations in agricultural production, Measure 1.1.4. Support for organic and integral production; Priority 1.2. Development of the value chain in agricultural production-Measure 1.2.1. Investments in the development of market infrastructure, Measure 1.2.2. Investments in the processing of agricultural products on the farm, Measure 1.2.3. Improving the capacity of production organizations. Priority 2.1. Improvement of rural infrastructure and availability public/social services, Measure 2.1.1. Support for improving the availability of public services, Measure 2.1.2. Support for the improvement of physical infrastructure in rural areas; Priority 2.2. Protection of natural resources-Measure 2.2.1. Soil protection from various forms of degradation, Measure 2.2.2. Agricultural waste management, Measure 2.2.3. Identification and protection of genetic resources; Priority 3.1. Support for the diversification of economic activities in rural areas-Measure 3.1.1. Investing in the provision of tourist services on the agricultural economy, Measure 3.1.2. Investing in the development of craft and other supplementary activities on economy, Measure 3.1.3. Investing in the promotion and marketing of rural areas and rural areas products, Measure 3.1.4. Protection of indigenous products.
