Barbados Water Authority (Amendment) Act, 2018 (No. 18 of 2018).

This Act makes amendments in the principal Act. Section 5 of the principal Act is amended by inserting new subsection 2 as regards the functions of the Authority to collect and transfer the monies to the entities. Section 5A on the display of garbage and sewage contribution levy on bills is inserted into the principal Act. Section 19(1) relating to the amounts consisting the funds of the Authority is amended. Part VA on the garbage and sewage contribution levy is inserted into the principal Act. It requires every domestic consumer and every commercial consumer of water supply services to pay a garbage and sewage contribution levy to the Authority, with effect from 1 August 2018. This also inserts Part VIA providing fro the establishment of a Garbage and Sewage Contribution Relief Board and the procedures and principles of relief certificate. The Schedule to the principal Act is amended by renumbering that Schedule as the First Schedule and inserting Second Schedule as regards the constitution of Garbage and Sewage Contribution Relief Board.
