Abstract
This Act provides for the implementation of the Agreement establishing the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and gives the Agreement the force of law in Barbados. It grants the resulting Institute full juridical personality, enabling it to enter contracts, manage property, and initiate legal proceedings. The law protects the entity's identity by criminalizing the unauthorized use of its name and ensures that all required financial contributions from the government are paid directly from the Consolidated Fund. Under the attached Agreement, the entity is charged with solving regional agricultural problems through new technologies, governed by a Standing Committee of Ministers and a Board of Directors.
