Abstract
This Act lays down provisions on the management and investment of the Catastrophe Fund; the claims for financial aid by the persons described in the First Schedule; establishment of the Physical Catastrophes Committee and the Economic Catastrophes Committee; audits on accounts, and reporting on the investment portfolio and other economic activity of the Fund; and offences and penalties. The purpose of the Fund is to provide financial aid to eligible persons and qualifying businesses in need of such aid as a result of a catastrophe, including but not limited to: earthquake, storm, flood or pandemic.
