Abstract
These Regulations contain rules relative to hygienic aspects of food businesses. "Food business" is defined in regulation 3 as "any trade or business for the purposes of which any person engages in handling of food..". It does not include any agricultural activity or in general wholesale trade of vegetables, handling of food at slaughterhouses, or at premises which are not used for the storage of "open" food. Part II sets out general requirements for the carrying out of a food business, whereas other Parts specify requirements relative to persons (III), to premises (IV), vending points (V), and transport of meat and fish (VI). Part VII contains provision relative to licences.
