Abstract
This Act aims at counteracting smoke emissions from sugar factories so as to avoid legal action against such factories and for this purpose establishes the Sugar factories Smoke Control Board. The Board shall register sugar factories and shall carry out inspections in factories for the purpose of preventing or counteracting any nuisance arising from smoke emissions. Any person may raise an objection against proposed registration of a factory. Registration of factories gives rise to certain immunity of those factories against civil action.

An Act to provide a means whereby sugar factories may be safeguarded against actions of nuisance and applications for interlocutory injunctions in respect of nuisances occasioned by the emission of smoke, and to regulate the emission of smoke from sugar factories afforded such protection.
