Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (Amendment) Act, 2023 (No. 06 of 2023).

This Act amends the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Act, 2003 (principal Act). Sub-sections (3) and (6) of section 34 of the principal Act relating to fixing and revision of tariff are amended. A new section 34A is inserted after section 34 of the principal Act, which gives the power to the government to fix or adjust tariffs in special cases, for the purpose of adjusting subsidies, in the public interest, for agriculture, industry, fertilisers, trade and energy according to the demand for domestic works.
