Abstract
The Good Agricultural Practices Policy (GAP) for Bangladesh provides for good practices from production to post-harvest processing, to ensure safe and quality food. The objectives include sustainable production of safe crops, environment resilient production, safety and well-being of workers, consumers health protection and increasing production of high value crops for exports. The components of GAP are described along with the governance and implementation framework. The responsibilities of various bodies and the GAP certification process is laid down. Further, activities such as training, education and technology transfer are also covered in the Policy.
