Abstract
This Act, consisting of 10 sections, aims to manage, develop and develop the tourism industry and services sector in Bangladesh, enacting the creation of tourism protected areas and special tourism zones and the construction of unplanned structures in the areas of tourism and the control of activities. It establishes the requirements to be met in order to perform tourism activity withing protected reserve areas and special tourist zones. The government may, by rules, impose legal restrictions including measures to create necessary infrastructures, entertainment and services facilities in tourism areas and special tourism areas, for development of tourism industry. In order to develop tourism industry, tourism can be undertaken by the government or non-governmental joint venture, or private joint venture, with domestic or foreign enterprises, for the construction and development of tourist centres in the protected areas and special tourism areas.
