Abstract
This Act provides for primary health care services to rural population in Bangladesh through community clinics. Section 3 establishes the Community Clinic Health Care Trust (Trust) which has the power to set up community clinics for carrying out the purposes of the Act. The goals and objectives of the Trust are laid down which includes providing integrated primary health care services to the rural people (Sec. 7). An advisory council of the Trust is formed (Sec. 8) and Board of Trustees is constituted (Sec. 9). The duties and functions of the Trust are laid down which include assisting community groups in operating community clinics to ensure health, family planning and nutrition service of the rural people (Sec. 10). Further, provisions in respect of coordination and supervision of community clinics, formation of committees and sub-committees of the Trust, fund of the Trust and management of the Trust are made.
