Food Contact Materials Regulations, S.R.O. No. 257-Law/2019.

These Regulations, made by the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) under section 87 of the Food Safety Act, 2013 (Act No. 43 of 2013), provide for protecting food safety by regulating materials and articles that come into contact with food. Therefore, the Regulations establish controls over: manufacture of food-contact materials; materials and raw materials used in the food production; active and intelligent packaging materials; labelling; traceability; documentation and record-keeping; quality assurance; inspections; corrective notices and enforcement. The Regulations ensure compliance with standards recognised or approved by the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
