Abstract
This policy emphasizes rapid economic development through industrialization, with the private sector driving and the government as facilitator. The policy highlights privatization of state-owned enterprises, promotion of SMEs and cottage industries, encouragement of foreign investment, and establishment of special economic zones. It also stresses on women’s participation, agro-based industries, ICT adoption, and environmentally friendly production. The policy strategies include full utilization of existing industrial production capacity, providing special facilities and infrastructure for SMEs, supporting agro-based industries, promoting hygienic preservation and marketing of agro-products, encouraging renewable energy use, prioritizing backward linkage industries to diversify exports, promoting waste management and pollution-free production, R&D, environmentally friendly technologies, and foreign direct investment.
