Abstract
The Government shall appoint a duly qualified person to be Chief Inspector of mines for the whole of Bangladesh (sect. 4). Section 6 specifies the duties of the Chief Inspector. A Mining Board shall be constituted by the Government (sects. 10 and 11). Sections 17-28 provide for matters related to: working conditions; dangers to human life and safety measures; accidents; working hours; child labour; etc. The Government may make regulations and rules consistent with this Act for any of the purposes listed in sections 29 and 30. The remaining sections contain penal provisions and provisions of miscellaneous nature.
