Abstract
The National Child Labour Elimination Policy aims to withdraw children from all forms of labour, including hazardous work and the worst forms of child labour, and to reintegrate them into education through stipends and grants. It seeks to involve parents in income-generating activities to break the cycle of poverty and provide special attention to children affected by natural disasters, indigenous and physically challenged children. The policy emphasizes coordination among stakeholders, enactment of pragmatic laws, and strengthening institutional capacity for effective enforcement. Additionally, it focuses on raising public awareness and implementing short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to eliminate child labour in Bangladesh by 2015.
