Abstract
The Act provides for the removal or destruction of anything (sunken, stranded or abandoned vessels, fishing gear, and timber logs) obstructing the passage leading to any port in Bangladesh; furthermore it provides for the prevention of epidemics due to accidental contagious diseases arising from vessels and crew docked in port. Under this Act inspection may be carried on these vessels and medical examination performed on the crew to assess the extent of disease, hospitalization may be ordered and also cleansing, disinfection an ventilation of those same vessels.
