Abstract
This Ordinance provides for the conservation of private forests and for the afforestation in certain cases of waste lands in East Pakistan. The 64 sections of the Ordinance are divided into seven Chapters, i.e.: Preliminary (I); Conservation of Private Forests and Afforestation of Waste Lands (II); Rights in Forests (III); Penalties and Procedures (IV); Regional Forest Officers (V); Rules (VI); Miscellaneous (VII).
The provincial Government may require owners of a private forest to prepare a working plan for the conservation of that forest (sect. 3). Control of forests may be vested in a Regional Forest Officer also for afforestation (sect. 11).
