Removal of wrecks and obstructions in inland navigable water-ways rules, 1973.

The Rules apply to inland navigable waterways, including all rivers, canals, lakes, shores, inland river ports, piers and terminals (as per Section 2, clause I) and deal with any kind of obstruction and all wrecks( as per Section 2, clause IV) impeding navigation. The appointed Authority may dispose for the removal or destruction of the aforesaid obstructing items or even take possession of them and issue a public notice in this regard.
