Abstract
This Ordinance of the Ministry of Environment and Water concerns the conditions and requirements for the construction and operation of waste landfills. The Ordinance consists of 46 articles and is divided into five Chapters: General Provisions, General Requirements towards Landfill Construction, Requirements towards Landfill Construction, Requirements towards the Landfill Operation and Requirements towards the Qualification and Training of Personnel Employed in Landfill Operations. The Ordinance provides for the classification of landfills (art. 1) and for the disposal of different waste in landfills (art. 3). It contains provisions on the construction and operation of landfills and related requirements and permits, it provides for the treatment of hazardous waste (art. 6) and for waste disposal operations. The Ordinance is completed by three annexes, one on disposal operations control, one on requirements for landfill design and one on landfill monitoring system.
