Abstract
This Plan to control and prevent the spread of African swine fever in the Republic of Bulgaria for the programmed period from the year 2021 until the year 2023 sets the following goal: prevention, limitation of the spread and damage caused by ASF and gradual eradication, proving and acquiring the status of a disease-free country/region by implementing coordinated, widespread and systematic actions by all interested parties - various government institutions and non-governmental organizations. The analysis of the epidemiological situation 2018-2020 identified some weaknesses in the control and control of the ASF disease, which are addressed in the current plan, namely "the wild boar population - the main reservoir of the ASF virus", "resistance of the virus in the environment and ways transmission', 'biosecurity', 'registration and control of personal holdings' and 'disease awareness for early detection'.
