Regulation amending and supplementing the Regulation No. 19 of 14 December 2005 on the prevention, restriction and eradication of bluetongue in ruminants.

This Regulation amends and adds certain provisions part of the Regulation No. 19 of 14 December 2005 on the prevention, restriction and eradication of bluetongue in ruminants (originally published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Bulgaria 5/2010).
Changes are listed as follows: article 2 is amended: The National Veterinary Service shall immediately declare any case of suspicion or confirmation of the presence of bluetongue on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, also to the competent European Commission bodies, in accordance with a procedure established by a separate regulation of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. Article 4, paragraph 1 is amended as follows: if no restrictive measures have been imposed in an animal holding dealing with ruminants, in accordance with the requirements of this Regulation, where there are one or more animals suspected of being infected by bluetongue, the national veterinarian service, who controls that particular site is obliged to: immediately notify the Director of the Regional Veterinary Medical Service, who shall turn such information to the Director General of the National Veterinary Service; and shall immediately confirm or deny the presence of the disease through approved methods of examination. In article 5, paragraph 2 after the words "compulsory vaccination", “after notification to the European Commission” shall be added. This amending Regulation further sets out the changes in article 18, paragraph 3 (related to issue regarding the operational contingency action plans).
