Abstract
This Bulgarian Strategy for the development and management of water supply and sewage in the Republic of Bulgaria for the planned period from the year 2014 until the year 2023 updates and presents the main goals and priorities of the water and sanitation sector in the Republic of Bulgaria, while at the same time it also includes proposals for the implementation and financing of policies to achieve these goals for a period of ten years. The strategy brings together the findings made in the course of the consultations and interim analyses, including the review of the regulatory framework, the review of public expenditure and the strategic financial plan - subject to development and discussion with stakeholders from September 2012 to the present. Given that many of the capital investments in water and sanitation have a long useful life, the assessment of the necessary costs and the strategic financial plan have been developed for a period of 25 years. This is a guarantee that the measures proposed in the ten-year strategy are in fact compatible with a sustainable Plumbing industry in the long term.
