Abstract
This Decree contains the Memorandum of Association and the Articles of Association establishing the Bahrain Agricultural Development Company (B.S.C. Closed), which undertakes the following main tasks (i) developing and investing in agricultural lands in areas designated by the Board of Directors; (ii) cultivating and harvesting all types of crops; (iii) processing seeds for reproduction and agricultural use; (iv) trading and selling raw agricultural materials; (v) owning real estate and transportation assets necessary for its operations; (vi) managing strategic planning and daily operations for agricultural sub-units. The Company is established as a government-owned entity (99% ownership by the government through relevant authorities). It is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of five members, three of whom are appointed by a resolution of the Economic Development Board (EDB) and two of whom are appointed by the government-owned investment entity (typically Edamah or Mumtalakat as specified in the Articles).
