Legislative Decree No. 12 of 2000 amending Legislative Decree No. 2 of 1995 on the protection of wildlife.

This Legislative Decree replaces articles 1, 3, 4 and 10 of Legislative Decree No. 2 of 1995. Changes have been made to terms and definitions of article 1. Article 3 provides for the establishment of the National Authority for Wildlife Protection under the control of the Bahrain Cabinet with the competence to lay down and issue the necessary regulations and resolutions related to the protection of wildlife in Bahrain. Article 4 specifies functions and duties of the National Authority for Wildlife Protection. Article 10 entrusts the Authority to issue regulations and resolutions necessary for the implementation of Legislative Decree No. 2 of 1995. This Legislative Decree further replaces the word “Authority” with the word “Committee” throughout the text and adds articles 3b and 3ba dealing with the establishment of a Special Fund and with the nomination of the Secretary General of the Authority by an Emir Decree.
