Legislative Decree No. 20 of 1983 regulating agricultural quarantine.

This Legislative Decree aims at protecting plants against diseases by regulating agricultural quarantine. The present Decree is composed of 12 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Article 2 imposes agricultural consignments to be subject to agricultural quarantine measures. Article 4 specifies the documents and certificates to be provided with agricultural consignments. Article 5 provides for the issuance of licences for the importation of living insects, bacteria, virus and the like for scientific purposes. Article 6 defines the requirements and conditions for the importation of seeds and cereals. Article 7 concerns with requirements and conditions for the exportation of agricultural consignments. Article 8 provides for requirements and conditions for agricultural consignments in transit. Article 11 contains offences and penalties.
