Abstract
This Order aims at the protection of the public health and prevention of environment pollution by the establishment of a suitable system for monitoring and controlling the processes involving hazardous wastes production, management, storage, transportation, treatment and disposal. The present Order is composed of 7 Chapters divided into 38 articles and 4 Appendixes. Chapter 1 deals with terms and definitions. Chapter 2 specifies the objectives and scope of the Order. Chapters 3 and 4 define duties of waste producers and carriers. Chapter 5 pertains to the Hazardous Waste Treatment Unit and Disposal Sites. Chapter 6 provides for import and export of hazardous wastes. Chapter 7 contains general provisions. Appendix I contains justifications for materials disposal. Appendix II contains disposal operations. Appendix III lists the categories of controllable wastes. Appendix IV classifies hazardous materials.
