Abstract
This Resolution by the National Health Regulatory Authority, comprising 19 articles, classifies and regulates the licensing, sale, import, export, and promotion of healthy foods. It specifies that healthy foods are categorized based on type and nutritional characteristics, as outlined in a Board-approved table that can be updated upon review. Key points include (i) licensing requirements for designated pharmacy and nutrition centers or approved shops, with applications submitted to the Health Facilities Department and specific technical standards for display and safety; (ii) licenses for import/export are required, with wholesale licenses demanding storage facilities that meet safety protocols; (iii) a Healthy Food Licensing Committee to manage to license and oversee restrictions; (iv) advertising requires prior approval for scientifically accurate and culturally respectful content; and (v) compliance protocols for cleanliness, product safety, and worker health, with authorized inspections by judicial officers. The Board may also restrict or ban specific foods if production is halted in the country of origin or if recommended by authorities.
