Resolution No. 16 of 1996 considering the Hawar islands and the surrounding territorial sea a protected area in accordance with provisions of Decree Law No. 2 of 1995 on the protection of the wildlife.

This Decree Law is composed of 3 articles. Article 1 declares the Hawar islands and the surrounding Territorial Sea a protected area in accordance with provisions of Decree Law No. 2 of 1995 on the protection of the wildlife, in order to preserve natural habitats of various species and organisms in the sea and land as well as protection of rare species or endangered. Article 2 entrusts competent Ministers to issue necessary resolutions for the implementing of this Resolution taking in consideration recommendations of the National Committee for Wildlife Protection.
