Abstract
The purpose of this Resolution is to regulate the use and trade of pearls and precious stones. This Resolution is composed of 17 articles. Article 1 deals with terms and definitions. Article 2 specifies the procedures and requirements for the sale of pearls and precious stones. Article 3 refers to the procedures necessary for the analysis, control and examination of pearls and precious stones. Articles 4 and 5 pertain to the control and examination of imported pearls and precious stones. Article 7 deals with fees for the control and certificates of analysis of pearls and precious stones. Article 8 relates to the requirements and licensing procedures for pearls and precious stone exhibitions. Article 9 provides for the establishment of the Pearls and Precious Stones Trade Committee. Articles 10-14 deal with the management and internal organization of the Committee. Article 16 contains offences and penalties.
