Abstract
The present Act makes provision for the eradication of agricultural pests and noxious plants and for the control and prevention of plant diseases.
His Majesty in Council shall appoint an inspecting officer of the Department of Agriculture to be responsible for preventing the introduction of dangerous pests and diseases. The Act prohibits, restricts or regulates the movement of plant materials and plant products such as living plants, seeds, bulbs, fresh fruits and vegetables, etc.
The Act further provides for: powers of the inspecting officer to direct destruction or treatment of plants and pests; compensations; duties of land owners to give notice on the appearance of dangerous pests; importation restrictions; penalties; etc.
