Abstract
The Environmental Impact Assessment Guidelines of Brunei Darussalam establishes procedures for assessing the environmental effects of proposed development projects. They set out requirements for project proponents to prepare and submit EIA reports, outline the review process by the competent authority, and provide for public consultation. The Guidelines aim to integrate environmental considerations into planning and decision‑making, covering impacts on air, water, land, biodiversity and ecosystems. They serve as procedural rules under the Environmental Protection and Management Order, 2016, ensuring that development activities are consistent with national environmental protection objectives.
