Abstract
By virtue of this Protocol the Contracting Parties create the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (ACTO). The Permanent Secretariat is based in Brasilia and is in charge of implementing the objectives set forth in the Treaty in accordance with the resolutions emanating from the meetings of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Amazon Cooperation Council.
