Abstract
This Resolution approves the Technical Regulation on Maximum Acceptable Limits for mycotoxins in food. Its objective is to establish the maximum residue limits for: aflatoxins (AFB1 + AFB2 + AFG1 + AFG2 and AFM1), ochratoxin A (OTA), deoxynivalenol (DON), fumonisins (FB1 + FB2), patulin (PAT) and zearalenone (ZON) in ready-to-eat food and raw materials, as specified in Annexes I, II, III and IV of this Resolution. The maximum limits refer to the results obtained by methodologies that meet the performance criteria established by the Codex Alimentarius. This Regulation applies to companies which import, produce, distribute and market the following categories of beverages, foodstuff and raw materials: peanuts and their derivatives; cereal-based food for infants (infants and early childhood); roasted and soluble coffee; cereals and cereal products; spices; dehydrated fruits; nuts; cocoa; almonds and their derivatives; apple juice and pulp; grape juice and pulp; wine and its derivatives; infant food formulas and infant follow-up formulas; milk and milk products, and legumes and their derivatives.
