Complementary Law No. 182 establishing the Basic Sanitation Microregions (MSBs) and their respective governance structures.

This Complementary Law establishes the Basic Sanitation Microregions (MSBs) and their respective governance structures, based on art. 25 of the Federal Constitution, in art. 4 of the State Constitution and in art. 3 of Federal Law No. 11.445 of 5 January 2007. The provisions of this Complementary Law apply to the State of Goiás, to the municipalities that make up the MSBs and to natural or legal persons, of public or private law, with which they relate with regard to public functions of common interest provided for in art. 3rd of this Complementary Law. This Complementary Law considers basic sanitation to be the public services of drinking water supply, sanitary sewage, urban cleaning and solid waste management, drainage and management of urban rainwater. Public functions of common interest of MSBs are the planning, regulation, supervision and direct or contracted provision of public drinking water supply, sewage, urban cleaning and waste management services solids, drainage and management of urban rainwater, as provided in art. 1 of this Complementary Law.
