Complementary Law No. 233 providing for the Socioeconomic-Ecological Zoning of the State of Rondônia (ZSEE).

This Complementary Law institutes the Socioeconomic-Ecological Zoning of Rondônia (ZSEE), as established in paragraph 2, art. 6 of the State Constitution, which will be governed by the guidelines established in this Complementary Law. Rondônia's Socio-Economic-Ecological Zoning, hereinafter referred to as ZSEE, is the main instrument for planning occupation and controlling the use of the state's natural resources. The aim of the ZSEE is to guide the implementation of measures and raise the socio-economic standard of the population, through actions that take into account the potential, restrictions on use and protection of natural resources, allowing for the full development of social functions and the well-being of all, in a sustainable manner. The ZSEE will be implemented on the basis of Zones and Subzones defined for the purpose of planning the actions to be developed by the state's public and private sectors.
