Abstract
This Decree approves the Structure and the Demonstration Chart of Positions in Commission and Trust Functions of the Brazilian Institution for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources - IBAMA and relocates and transforms positions into commission and trust functions. IBAMA is an autarchy created by Law No. 7.735 of 22 February 1989, headquartered in Brasília, Federal District, and having jurisdiction throughout the national territory, has the following purposes: I - exercise the power of environmental police; II - carry out actions of national environmental policies, referring to federal attributions, related to environmental licensing, environmental quality control, authorization for the use of natural resources and environmental inspection, monitoring and control, in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of the Environment; and III - carry out the supplementary actions within the competence of the Federal Government, in accordance with current environmental legislation.
