Abstract
The decree establishes the Interinstitutional Technical Committee on One Health, a consultative and permanent body tasked with developing and supporting the implementation of Brazil’s National One Health Action Plan. The committee aims to integrate measures addressing human, animal, plant, and environmental health through a cooperative approach. It will elaborate and revise the plan, monitor its implementation, and provide technical advice on domestic and international agendas related to One Health. The committee comprises representatives from multiple ministries and agencies, including health, agriculture, environment, defense, education, and research institutions. It may also invite experts and civil society representatives to participate in meetings without voting rights. The decree specifies the committee’s operational rules, including meeting frequency, quorum requirements, and the possibility of creating temporary working subgroups. The Ministry of Health will coordinate the committee and provide its executive secretariat. The decree enters into force upon publication and mandates the presentation of the National One Health Action Plan within ninety days, with annual activity reports to follow.
