Abstract
This Decree establishes the permanent National Committee for Medicinal and Phyto-therapeutic Plants, with the aim of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the National Policy and Programme for Medicinal and Phyto-therapeutic Plants established by Decree No. 5.813 of 22 June 2006. The Committee is responsible for: defining criteria, parameters, indicators and methodology for monitoring and evaluating the National Medicinal and Phyto-therapeutic Plants' Policy and Programme; monitor the planning and execution of actions developed by the entities represented in the Committee to implement this National Programme; monitor the integration and coherence of the National Medicinal and Phyto-therapeutic Plants' Policy and Programme in relation to other national policies related to the subject; monitor compliance with the international commitments made by the country within the scope of related policy and programme; evaluate the effects of intersectoral policies on Medicinal and Phyto-therapeutic plants; encourage partnerships between the government sectors involved in implementing the above mentioned Policy and Programme.
