Decree No. 12.087 creating the National Productive Forests Programme.

This Decree creates the National Productive Forests Programme with the aim of recovering areas that have been altered or degraded for productive purposes, with a view to adapting and regularizing the environment for family farming and expanding the capacity to produce healthy food and socio-biodiversity products. The National Productive Forests Programme will be implemented in all biomes, aimed exclusively at family farmers and rural entrepreneurs, including beneficiaries of the national agrarian reform policy referred to in art. 19 of Law No. 8.629 of 25 February 1993, in compliance with the provisions of Law No. 11.326 of 24 July 2006, and art. 3 of Law No. 12.651 of 25 May 2012. The objectives of the National Productive Forests Programme are: promote the recovery of altered and degraded areas for productive purposes; carry out environmental adaptation and regularization for family farming; encourage the production of healthy food and socio-biodiversity products through agro-forestry systems; and foster the economic, local, integrated and sustainable development of family farming.
