Abstract
This Decree establishes the Marine Spatial Planning (PEM). PEM covers the marine area under national jurisdiction, known as the Blue Amazon, which comprises the territorial sea, Brazil's Exclusive Economic Zone, and the outer edge of the Brazilian continental shelf. The PEM's objective is to build a marine space under national jurisdiction aiming at protecting its: health; biodiversity; resilience; safety; productivity; and sustainable, orderly, equitable, and democratic development.
