Abstract
This Decree approves the basic structure of the Agency for Agrarian Development and Rural Extension (AGRAER). AGRAER, in addition to the competences established in art. 23 of Law No. 6. 035 of 2022, it is responsible to carry out the following activities: drawing up AGRAER's annual budget proposal and formulating investment programmes, observing the priorities determined by technical and economic studies and the State government's political guidelines; training rural families in the nutritional value and rational use of food, introducing diversified techniques aimed at quality and low cost; Encouraging and motivating rural families to adopt preventive health practices, informing them about the causes, symptoms and consequences of transmissible or infectious diseases; developing and coordinating cultural and folkloric projects to value young farmers, the elderly, women farmers and ethnic groups; developing and implementing programmes aimed at reviving the culture of using medicinal plants, in terms of indication and form of use.

This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
