Abstract
This Decree aims at reorganizing the basic structure of the State Agency for Animal and Plant Health Protection (IAGRO). IAGRO's purpose is to: implement public education, health, inspection and surveillance policies in order to promote the maintenance of animal and plant health and the quality of their products and by-products, through: a) the sanitary defense, control, inspection of products and by-products of agricultural origin; b) the inspection of agricultural inputs and biosafety activities, to ensure human health and environmental protection; comply with and enforce the operational obligations delegated by the Executive Power, dealt with in the legislation, concerning: a) the protection of animal and plant health; b) the control and inspection of agricultural products, inputs, goods and services, processes and technologies covered by the agricultural health care system.
