Decree No. 16.755 establishing the State Centre for Environmental Education (CEEA) within the State of Mato Grosso do Sul.

This Decree establishes the State Environmental Education Centre (CEEA) in the State of Mato Grosso do Sul and places it under the joint responsibility of the State Secretariat of Education, the State Secretariat for Environment, Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, and the State Environmental Institute. Its main objective is to create a permanent institutional structure dedicated to planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring formal and non-formal environmental education programmes and activities throughout the state. The Centre is intended to serve as a reference institution for the integration of environmental education policies, while promoting capacity building for teachers, managers, technicians, educators, and other stakeholders involved in environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives. The Decree also aims to strengthen environmental awareness and public participation by fostering critical reflection on contemporary environmental challenges, producing and disseminating educational materials, organizing training events and workshops, supporting environmental education projects in schools and communities, and encouraging research in the field of environmental education. To achieve these goals, the CEEA is empowered to collaborate with public institutions, private organizations, and civil society entities at the state, national, and international levels.
