This Decree provides for environmental licensing of gold mining activities in water bodies within the State of Rondônia. The environmental licensing will be carried out through the Preliminary Licence for Installation and Operating activities. Each of the dredging premises authorized to operate in the area covered by the Operating Licence must have the respective environmental certificate of good standing issued by the State Secretariat for Environmental Development (SEDAM) and all documents, projects and environmental studies needed to start the licensing process approved. The Decree specifies the stages of the Environmental Licensing procedure; the studies necessary for the licensing process, carried out by qualified professionals, at the entrepreneur's expense, etc.
