Decree No. 38.606 creating Potential Development Centres for Shrimp Farming in Maranhão (PODESCAR I).

This Decree creates Potential Development Centres for Shrimp Farming in Maranhão (PODESCAR I). The PODESCAR I Shrimp Farming Development Potential Centres will be implemented in the municipalities of Anajatuba, São João Batista and Viana, in accordance with the Master Plan for Land Use Planning of these municipalities. The area where the centres will be located will be restricted to winter areas, and will not include areas of floodable fields, which can also be used for extensive livestock farming and represent the main areas of plant and animal extraction in the Maranhão lowlands.
