Decree No. 38.814 on the State System of Conservation Units (SEUC).

This Decree, composed of 23 articles and one Annex, regulates the integration of the State System of Conservation Units (SEUC) within the Secretary for Agriculture. The Decree defines Conservation Units as parts of national territory (including water resources) that, given their particular natural characteristics, have been set-up for environmental conservation purposes. Moreover, the Decree classifies the Conservation Units in three main groups constituting the SEUC (integral protection units; provisional management units, and sustained management units). Finally, the Decree defines the competences of all interested bodies and authorities. The Annex provides registration templates.
