Abstract
This Decree formalizes the state of Amapá's adherence to the "Race to Zero" campaign under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as detailed on the "https://unfccc.int/climate-action/race-to-zerocampaign" websites, under the terms of this Decree and the complementary normative resolutions issued on the matter. This State adherence will be implemented under the coordination of the State Secretariat for the Environment (SEMA), within 12 months from the publication of this Decree, through the approval of: I - the 2050 Climate Action Plan, which should include intermediate targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as defined by the Kyoto Protocol, for the years 2030 and 2040, and the neutralization of net emissions by 2050; II - the State REDD Plan, which aims to establish the development model based on a low carbon economy, the conservation and enhancement of environmental assets and the reduction of environmental liabilities, with targets up to 2030.
