Abstract
This Decree provides for the State Women's Council (CEM-MG). CEM-MG aims to promote women's rights as part of the State Secretariat for Social Development (Sedese). In particular, CEM-MG is responsible for: formulate and propose public policies to protect rights, citizenship, reduction of inequalities based on race, sex and other social, economic, political and cultural differences; approve the action plan, defining action priorities; propose criteria for the implementation of public policies ensuring equality and combating any type of discrimination against women; enable the participation of women, in the process of constructing public policies aimed to promote their social inclusion in the different sectors of society; develop studies, debates and research on women and their rights, in conjunction with other public and private, national and international bodies and entities, to suggest the improvement of legislation on women's rights; propose budget guidelines and resource allocation for the Multi-Year Government Action Plan; promote campaigns aimed at women's empowerment, and against violence and all forms of gender inequalities; establish channels of dialogue with social movements of the Executive Branch, aiming at the permanent exchange of promotion and defense of women's rights and support for their activities, etc.
