Abstract
This Decree approves the management plan for the Southern Coast Marine Environmental Protection Area (APA-Sul), created by Decree No. 53.527 of 8 October 2008. This management plan aims at managing the conservation unit for sustainable use, with a total area of approximately 368.742,53 hectares and managed by the Foundation for Forest Conservation and Production of the State of São Paulo (Fundação para a Conservação e a Produção Florestal do Estado de São Paulo - Fundação Florestal). Annexes I to V, as follows: Annex I, general and specific objectives of the APA-Sul, its zoning and rules governing the use and management of the conservation unit; Annex II, graphic representation of the areas and zones of the conservation unit; Annex III, glossary of terms used in this decree; Annex IV, list of tourist activities classified according to the degree of intensity; Annex V, activities allowed in the areas of the conservation unit. The objectives of the APA-Sul are: I – protect, order, guarantee and discipline the rational use of the region's environmental resources, including water; II – organize recreational tourism and research and fishing activities; III – promote sustainable development in the region.
