Decree No. 66.823 approving the management plan for the Northern Coast Marine Environmental Protection Area, created by Decree No. 53.525.

This Decree approves the management plan for the Northern Coast Marine Environmental Protection Area (APA-Norte), created by Decree No. 53.525. This management plan aims at managing the conservation unit for sustainable use, with a total area of approximately 316,242.452 hectares and managed by the Foundation for Forest Conservation and Production of the State of São Paulo (Fundação para a Conservação e a Produção Florestal do Estado de São Paulo - Fundação Florestal). The objectives of the APA-Norte are: I - protect, order, guarantee and regulate the rational use of the region's environmental resources, including water; II - organize recreational tourism and research, fishing and aquaculture activities; III - promote sustainable development in the region, valuing traditional communities and their cultural practices. Annexes I to V list down the following topics: Annex I, general and specific objectives of the APA-Norte, its zoning and rules governing the use and management of the conservation unit; Annex II, graphic representation of the areas and zones of the conservation unit; Annex III, glossary of terms used in this decree; Annex IV, list of tourist activities classified according to the degree of intensity; Annex V, details of the activities allowed in the areas of the conservation unit.
