Abstract
This Decree establishes the Agricultural Policy for Planted Forests. It specifies the principles of Agricultural Policy for Planted Forests as follows: the production of forestry goods and services for social and economic development of the country; and the mitigation of the effects of climate change. The objectives of agricultural policy for Planted Forests aim: to increase production and productivity of planted forests; to promote the use of the productive potential of economic goods and services originated from planted forests; to contribute to the reduction of pressure on native forests; to improve the income and quality of life in rural areas, especially in small and medium-scale farms; and to encourage the integration between farmers and the agribusiness using wood as raw material.
